Finally someone addresses it. It has been such a pain to travel over the last few days. Literally this morning around 6:50 am there was a 6-7 min interval. I waited for a few trains before I can board easily. I think those travelling on the other lines are also facing similar pains over the last few weeks. Even without being Parliament, I am glad he is making some claims that even our Siow Transport Minister also cannot address. Hope the WP also ask why this has been the case to said Minister Also I wish we can make all the ministers ride the train for 1 month every year to then decide if they are just disappointed. But instead they are all professionals who ride their cars to go anywhere.
IMHO, I think the problem is because the government is trying too hard to play down the issue. NEL transformer blow up probably isnt properly fixed yet and they only have temporary fixes in place, which is why they have to cut down frequency to reduce the risk the temporary fixes will fail. But they dont want to tell you that. They want you to move along, everything is fine now. Pay no attention to the reduced frequency because it only happens in your imagination. Nobody expects perfection. I think our public transport is decent enough. We just need some transparency to help with our planning. Trying to play down the issue only hurts their credibility.

Yeah govt need to take the L and just put out the facts instead of creating new metrics to show everything is "fine"
Singaporeans voted out one of the most vocal check and balance 😭
the problem is the change in management from providing slack and allowances for any kind of breakage to "just in time" / lean management that does not allow slack and allowances to cut costs. just in time management may be a perfectly legitimate way to run a business. it is not the right way to run a public service. public services, bec so many people depend on it, should not be managed lean, because managing lean means that you save costs during the good times but you shit the bed during bad times. a public service cannot afford to shit the bed during the bad times. without this change in direction, public transport will continue to have these kinds of problems.
