What will you do with 700k portfolio at 30yo?
Recently I’ve (29m) been going down the rabbit hole of YouTube videos around the following philosophies: 1. Die with zero 2. Ideal end state exercise 3. Regret minimalization framework I’ve had these ideas for a couple of years, and hence have been working towards FI. Here is my current state: 1. 700k investment portfolio 2. Tech job with 200k TC (only got it this year) 3. Good work life balance, can take leaves whenever, colleagues and customers are nice 4. Manager is non-existent because I’m exceeding my KPIs so he doesn’t bother me 5. Single, no kids and parents are healthy 6. No mortgage, no car, no debt 7. Healthy body, exercise regularly 8. Semi-active in options selling and have been profitable for the past 2 years So given the above, I’m in a little bit of a dilemma. I have no reason to leave my current job, but I can’t help but feel I’ll only be in this phase of my life once, before I consider starting a family or my health deteriorates. I’m seriously considering of doing something memorable for my 30s and create memories that will last the rest of my life. My plan if I quit is to stay in different parts of SEA (low cost) to do dive courses, motorbike loops, MMA classes, and maybe learn more skills, all while documenting my journey maybe by vlog. Perhaps meet an SO, eventually live abroad, those are on the table. But nothing concrete yet. Love to hear what others would do in my stead. Welcome all ideas, feedback or advice!
