we cannot put fast-moving electric vehicles of any sort with pedestrians on the same path. It leads to injuries and in this case, death.
We have rules on riding bikes and PMDs. Riders should always yield to pedestrians, and there is a 15kmh speed limit on shared paths. Weak enforcement means anti-social scoundrels like this PMD rider get to ride belligerently. The law should come down harshly on people like him.
Will this jolt the authorities into enforcing stricter action?

There had been previous incidences that resulted in severe injuries and I think death. If those cases didnt do shit doubt another blip will the straw.
Doesnt take much to foresee accidents like this happening. But yeah I think we need a couple more of such stories within a short period of time to move the government to act like how they finally did with the vapes
I was at a hdb block a few days ago walking behind a family with a ~3 year old boy. Approaching a T-junction corridor when the boy stopped just before the junction, and literally an instant later a silent PMD zoomed past faster than a sprinting runner. Like we literally glimpsed him for less than a second before he had already sped past. The mum let out a scream lol. If the boy didn't stop where he did, there would have been a really bad crash
