In the next few years, the stall holders are gonna retire/stop doing this and you won't be able to find new stall vendors willing to do this, so what should the school management do? Pretend that this problem doesn't exist and then panic when all of the stall holders stop doing it and you basically have no food in the canteen and panic? Or start planning early? I think there's no issue planning ahead personally... But shafting existing stallholders when they have a very healthy canteen (9) stalls is honestly abit premature...

So angry when I read this. Who the fuck thought this is a good idea. Singaporeans' love for food and being able to choose and try different stalls starts young and usually at school. This is soulless. What a joke. I understand there are problems with profits of stallholders and wait time but there should be better solutions than ripping our culture out of the whole generation of children. The repercussion is not immediate, policy makers will praise that problems are solved but the cultural loss cannot be gained back.
