What are some cool coffee shops, bars, pubs or places in Singapore that you genuinely felt surprised that you had never been there until you stumbled upon it... bored and want to explore something new.

Seletar Aerospace Park, a really quiet and serene place in the day, probably because it's quite inaccessible by public transport.
There is a bunch of bars there so there might be more activity at night.
+1 for Seletar area. The drive from Yishun to Punggol along the coast quite nice
The cafes in that area are beautiful!
👍
Ulu Sembawang. Amazing sunrise place, if you can be bothered to wake up early and go to such a remote park.
There's this patch of grass field that is low enough that the morning fog sometimes will hover over, and them the sun just rises from there.
It just looks cinematic af, especially given how hard it is to find such a scene to watch in Singapore. It was just beautiful to look at. But it was humid af also so be prepared. The knee height grass is also full of dew, so if you don't go with hiking trousers you'll be soaking wet. (Just Google the sunrise photos it's exactly how it looked in real life)
Learned about that place when a past client of mine suggested that location to take some photos (they're a cycling apparel company)
Another is Pulau Hantu. It's not easily accessible unless you charter a boat, but friends and I visited the place. The scenery of lush tropical island juxtaposed with a oil refinery in the background looked like a scene out of a dystopian science fiction.
Is it safe? I mean snakes? Monitor lizards? Or other creepy crawlies?
It's a park, but it is pretty forested. I didn't encounter any, but do your due diligence.
A lot of these prickly plants where their seeds or seedlings will latch to your shoes and pants tho
Old Holland Field. The space there is so vast and open it feels almost surreal in land squeezed Singapore. And the houses around the area are massive too
